WasteMantra is a platform that connects households and businesses with waste collectors, streamlining pickup scheduling, tracking and recycling insights.
The challenge
Waste collection is still largely coordinated over phone calls, messages and paper records. Households and businesses have little visibility into when a pickup will happen, collectors juggle their schedules manually, and there is no shared, reliable record of what was collected or recycled — making the whole process opaque and hard to improve.
Our approach
WasteMantra brings both sides of the process onto one platform. A Next.js front-end gives households, businesses and collectors fast, responsive interfaces, backed by a Node.js API and a PostgreSQL database that model pickups, schedules and users. Customers schedule and track pickups in real time; collectors manage their routes and jobs through a separate dashboard; recycling data is captured and turned into analytics and reports; and payments and notifications are handled securely. The platform is hosted on AWS so it can scale with demand.
